Strataderm

New generation silicone gel for prevention and treatment of keloid and hypertrophic scars

Description

Strataderm offers silicone gel technology in a rapidly self-drying and non-sticky, fragrance-free form. It is ideal for all irregular skin/scar surfaces and any scar size. It can be used on both new and old scars.

Strataderm gel does not cause secondary side effects such as maceration, rash, itching or infection, and is suitable for people with sensitive skin and children. Strataderm is considered not only a first-line therapy for scars, but is also recommended for use alongside other treatment options, such as steroid injections, to increase overall effectiveness.

Although scars generally cannot be completely removed to date, with a carefully selected and effective treatment, scar side effects can be reduced and appearance significantly improved in most cases. Additionally, the likelihood of abnormal scarring can be effectively reduced if treatment begins soon after wound closure.

Silicone gel is a simple, safe and convenient way to improve abnormal scars without the need for painful invasive procedures. Silicone gel therapy plays a major role in scar treatment and has been proven safe and effective for many years. Silicone gel is the only non-invasive option with evidence-based recommendations from leading world experts for both scar treatment and prevention of abnormal scarring.

New silicone gel formulas are applied from a tube in a thin layer to the affected skin, drying to form a transparent, flexible and gas-permeable silicone gel layer that adheres to the skin. This ensures constant contact with the entire scar surface, allowing it to work 24 hours a day.

Recent clinical trials have shown that self-drying silicone gel, applied from a tube, has equal efficacy and the same excellent results in scar treatment and prevention of abnormal scarring as traditional silicone sheet placement. At the same time, gel application is much simpler than applying silicone gel sheets, with no limitations in its use.

Benefits

  • For old and new scars
  • Softens and flattens raised scars
  • Relieves itching and discomfort from scars
  • Reduces redness and discolouration
  • Prevents the appearance of abnormally large scars

Strataderm was developed using new silicone technology that does not use SiO2 (sand or glass) for drying assistance. Superior durability, comfortable feel after application and short drying time are just some of the advantages of the advanced formula.

Application instructions

Ensure the scar is clean and dry. Apply a very thin layer of Strataderm to the affected area and allow the gel to dry. Apply Strataderm once or twice daily to exposed areas or as directed by a physician.

For best results, Strataderm should be maintained in continuous contact with the skin (24 hours a day / 7 days a week).

If properly applied to exposed areas, Strataderm should be dry in 3–4 minutes. If it takes longer to dry, you have probably applied too much. Gently remove excess with a clean tissue or gauze and allow the drying process to continue.

When dry, you can apply sunscreen, cosmetics, compression garments or casts over Strataderm.
