ALLEVYN Gentle Border

Silicone highly absorbent dressing for sensitive skin

ALLEVYN Gentle Border is a silicone-based highly absorbent dressing designed for sensitive skin, especially for burn wounds. It drastically reduces pain during dressing changes thanks to its gentle silicone adhesive layer.

The dressing uses triple-action technology for absorption, exudate retention, and evaporation, achieving optimal moisture management in the wound. The upper membrane blocks pathogen penetration and is waterproof, allowing patients to bathe freely.

ALLEVYN Gentle Border protects surrounding skin from maceration and can remain on the wound for up to 7 days, reducing dressing change frequency and overall treatment costs.

Benefits

  • Drastically reduced pain during dressing changes
  • Triple-action exudate management technology
  • Waterproof upper membrane
  • Protection against surrounding skin maceration
  • Effective for up to 7 days on the wound

Antimicrobial Dressings

Nanocrystalline silver — effective against over 150 pathogens

Antimicrobial dressings with nanocrystalline silver contain 109 mg/100cm² of silver and are effective against more than 150 pathogens, including MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus).

Nanocrystalline silver provides superior antimicrobial activity thanks to smaller particles that increase total surface area and bioavailability. Controlled release of silver nanocrystals lasts 3 to 7 days.

Clinical research published in the Burns journal (2006) on 337 pediatric injuries demonstrated a clear correlation between hypertrophic scar frequency and healing time: 0% hypertrophic scars when healed within 10 days, 8% for 10–14 days, and 68% for 26–30 days.

Benefits

  • Effective against over 150 pathogens including MRSA
  • 109 mg/100cm² nanocrystalline silver
  • Controlled silver release for 3–7 days
  • Proven reduction of hypertrophic scarring

DURAFIBER

New-generation fibrous cellulose dressing

DURAFIBER is a new-generation fibrous cellulose dressing with high absorbency and gentle gelifying properties, suitable for deep wounds.

The dressing removes in one piece — painlessly, quickly, and safely. Minimal shrinkage prevents untreated wound areas and ensures complete coverage throughout the wearing period.

DURAFIBER maintains a moist wound healing environment, which is crucial for optimal tissue regeneration.

DURAFIBER Ag is enriched with silver ions for antimicrobial effect, providing additional infection protection with all the benefits of the standard DURAFIBER dressing.

Benefits

  • High absorbency for deep wounds
  • Single-piece removal — painless and safe
  • Minimal dressing shrinkage
  • Maintains moist healing environment

RENASYS

Negative pressure wound therapy — 4-5 times faster healing

RENASYS is a negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) device that enables 4 to 5 times faster wound healing compared to conventional methods.

The system uses antimicrobial gauze or foam for exudate control, with a wide selection of drains for fistula treatment. Safety features with alarms ensure uninterrupted therapy.

A vacuum range of 10 to 200 mmHg allows painless and effective therapy tailored to individual patient needs. RENASYS is a portable device that enables patient mobility during therapy.

Benefits

  • 4–5 times faster wound healing
  • Vacuum range 10–200 mmHg
  • Antimicrobial gauze or foam for exudate control
  • Portable device for patient mobility

Wound Preparation

Wound preparation is an organized medical practice using a holistic approach to address barriers to healing. It provides the foundation for effective use of advanced wound care products.

The goal of wound preparation is to achieve a stable wound with good perfusion and minimal exudate, creating optimal conditions for healing.

Why is wound preparation important?

Proper wound preparation has a positive impact on chronic wound management. Major barriers to healing include necrotic edges, bacterial imbalance, and excessive exudate. By applying a structured wound preparation approach, the full potential of advanced products is maximized.
