Recommended care

• Wash CICA-CARE twice daily in a mild oil-free soap solution and rinse in clean warm water. Pat dry and reapply to the dry, clean scar.
• Avoid using detergent for cleaning as it may cause skin irritation.
• Avoid using paper products to dry the sheet as they may stick to it.
• In warm weather or during physical activity, clean the sheet more frequently for comfort.
• Ensure the scar and surrounding skin are clean and dry before application.
• CICA-CARE should be worn at least 12 hours daily. If possible, 24 hours with washing breaks.
• For better skin acclimatisation, start with 4 hours daily for the first two days, 8 hours for the next two days, and increase by 2 hours daily until reaching the optimal 24-hour time.
• When the sheet begins to deteriorate or cleaning becomes difficult, replace it. This usually occurs at intervals of 14 to 28 days.
• Total therapy time should cover a period of two to four months.

Precautions

• In some patients, a rash has been observed on covered skin. The cause is poor hygiene or excessive pressure.
• If a rash appears, reduce therapy to 12 hours on and 12 hours off. If the rash persists, discontinue use and consult a doctor.
• For surgical procedures, use CICA-CARE only after sutures have been removed and the wound is fully healed.
• Use of the sheet is not recommended for young children unless combined with a suitable secondary retention dressing.
• Do not use ointments or creams under the gel sheet as they may interfere with product effectiveness.
